Program Overview
This Mechanical Engineering program prepares students for careers in various industries, including transport, healthcare, construction, and robotics. The curriculum covers topics such as CAD, thermodynamics, and solid mechanics, influenced by DMU's research in aerodynamics and sustainable development. Students can choose between a three-year BEng (Hons) or a four-year integrated MEng (Hons), with the opportunity to pursue a Chartered Engineer qualification with additional study.

Degree Overview:
This degree program touches virtually every aspect of modern life. It’s at the forefront of developing new technologies for a multitude of industries including transport, healthcare, construction, and robotics. Modules of this course focus on a range of topics including computer-aided design (CAD), thermodynamics and heat transfer, solid mechanics, dynamics and control, materials engineering and processing, and product development. DMU’s teaching and content are influenced by our research in aerodynamics, fluid systems, transportation, manufacturing and sustainable development. Mechanical Engineering can be studied either as a three-year BEng (Hons) programme, or a four-year integrated master’s MEng (Hons).
Careers:
Mechanical Engineering students can go on to work in industries including aerospace, automotive, defence, and energy, as well as in product manufacturing and the food and beverage industries.
