This degree program focuses on the roles and responsibilities of a fashion buyer and merchandiser, exploring key roles within the modern fashion industry. Students will gain in-depth knowledge of the buying cycle, critical path, trading range, sales reaction, sales promotion management, and merchandising aspects like range selection and strategic stock management. The program emphasizes sustainability and social responsibility, equipping graduates with the tools to drive innovation in the buying process. DMU collaborates with industry professionals to provide real-world context and prepare students for the challenges of the rapidly evolving fashion industry.
Careers:
Students have the opportunity to participate in a one-year placement within or outside the UK. Past placements have included companies like Tommy Hilfiger, O'Neill, Next, Marks & Spencer, Reiss, George, Selfridges, River Island, Joules, G-Star, Mamas & Papas, and various supply bases. Many graduates go on to work for these brands or start their own businesses.
