About Program

Program Overview

This academic program prepares graduates for careers as academics in higher education with a focus on Hispanic, Portuguese, and Latin American studies. The program emphasizes connections between places, times, and disciplines within a global context, exploring the influence of Spanish and Portuguese-speaking countries worldwide. Graduates develop research skills and maintain the ability to undertake innovative research in their field.

Program Outline

connections between places; connections between times; connections between disciplines. We research how Spanish and Portuguese-speaking countries shaped the world, across Europe, America, Africa and Asia. We ask how they fit into the wider globe and we explore new ways to express those relationships, including through digital humanities, sport studies, translation, environmental humanities and indigenous histories.
