The International Foundation in Maths and Computer Science is a one-year program designed to prepare students for entry to Year 1 of an undergraduate degree in subjects including computer science, actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, and finance at The University of Manchester.


Objectives:

  • Prepare students for entry to Year 1 of an undergraduate degree in specific subjects at The University of Manchester.
  • Offer a pathway to a world top 60 mathematics degree at the home of the world's first stored-program computer.
  • Allow students to follow in the footsteps of famous mathematicians and scientists such as Alan Turing and Sydney Goldstein.
  • Provide access to one of 10+ degrees and learning in the university's state-of-the-art facilities, including a cognitive robotics laboratory, e-science laboratory, and nanotechnology workshop.
  • Offer clinical experience through placements in each year of the university's GPhC-accredited degree.

  • Students must be 17 years old by 31 December of the calendar year for September start dates and by 31 December immediately preceding the course for January start dates.
