Degree Overview:
This program combines preparation studies with a BA (Hons) Global Development and Media degree at the University of East Anglia (UEA) in a three-year study plan. The program focuses on exploring the complex relationship between media, communication, and global development.
Objectives:
- To provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the role of media and communication in global development.
- To develop students' critical thinking skills and analytical abilities in relation to global development issues.
- To equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary to pursue careers in development and humanitarian work.
Outline:
- Year 1: Taught by both INTO UEA and UEA's School of Global Development. Students explore the complex relationship between media, communication, and global development.
- Years 2 and 3: Taught solely at the School of Global Development.
Careers:
- Develops professional and technical competencies highly valued by employers such as government agencies, the United Nations, consultancy firms, and NGOs that focus on development and humanitarian work.
- Opportunity to enhance studies with a work placement in the UK or overseas.
Other:

- Students require a single iCAS and one study visa for the full duration of study.
- During Year 1 of study, 40 to 60 credits are taught at UEA together with first-year university students. The remaining credits are taught in smaller, more personalized classes at INTO UEA.
