This Senior People Professional Degree Apprenticeship, funded by the apprenticeship Levy, provides aspiring and current senior managers and leaders with specialized pathways in HRM, L&D, or OD. Degree Overview:

This Senior People Professional Degree Apprenticeship is a part-time program designed for aspiring and current senior managers and leaders. It offers three distinct pathways: Human Resource Management (HRM), Learning and Development (L&D), and Organisational Development (OD). The program is fully funded by the apprenticeship Levy and includes a PG Dip, Chartered Membership of the CIPD, and the completion of an MSc in Human Resources, Learning and Development, or Organisational Development.

The program aims to elevate and refine expertise and capabilities essential for senior-level human resource management. By the end of the program, learners will have:

  • Critically evaluated organizational strategy and practice within complex and rapidly changing business environments.
  • Critically appraised the added value of policies and practices within contemporary organizations.

Assessment:

  • Assessment Method 1: Professional discussion underpinned by a portfolio of evidence (compiled over 2 years from specific yearlong modules and ongoing assignments and workplace projects).
  • Assessment Method 2: Project proposal, presentation, and questioning.
  • Formative Feedback: Ongoing feedback is provided both within and outside formal sessions in conjunction with working with mentors.

Teaching:

  • Teaching Methods: Active blended learning approach, combining face-to-face and online learning.
  • Support for Students: Personal tutors are assigned to provide guidance and care on academic and pastoral matters, as well as on the development of Personal Development Plans (PDPs).
  • Study Hours: Learners attend a 2-day induction at the start of the program.
  • Modules are delivered in a blended format, typically equivalent to four full days per 10-credit module, broken down into 2-3-hour workshop sessions. Apprenticeship learners are required to spend a minimum of 6 hours of their working time on learning activities.
  • Teaching Approach: Emphasis on recognizing the workplace as an important learning environment.
  • Utilizes flipped learning, action learning, and case-study analysis to integrate key concepts and theories, assess their impact on the working environment, and share understanding based on group experience.
