Outline:

The program is delivered over one year in an online learning format and is structured into three semesters:

  • Semester 1:
  • Digital Marketing Strategy:
  • This module equips learners with the knowledge and skills to develop comprehensive digital marketing strategies. It covers theoretical elements of marketing strategy in the digital world and includes a live company project where students develop a digital marketing strategy for a real company.
  • Digital Technology & Design: This module focuses on evaluating the combination of digital channels to engage consumers throughout their brand relationship.
  • Students assess various owned media technologies in a live company environment, identifying, designing, and developing technology solutions, including website design, email marketing, video, content creation, and mobile apps.
  • Semester 2:
  • Social Media and ICT Law:
  • This module covers key principles and legal regulations in social media, data protection, and online trademarks. Students research and analyze areas like obtaining trademarks, GDPR, direct marketing rules, data retention and deletion strategies, online offenses, limitations on freedom of speech, and online privacy protection. The live company project allows students to apply legal regulations to a digital business and propose effective strategies involving social media and data protection policies.
  • Social Media Marketing and Digital Advertising: This practical module explores contemporary issues in digital marketing communications and the management of social media and digital advertising activities.
  • Students develop skills, frameworks, and experiences for creating and managing integrated social media marketing and digital advertising campaigns that are well-targeted, efficiently implemented, and within budget. They learn how to target new and existing customers through social media marketing and advertising, understand the most effective channels for their target audience, and integrate social media marketing and digital advertising into an overall digital marketing strategy.

Assessment:

The program utilizes continuous assessment (100% online) with no end-of-semester exams.


Teaching:

The program is delivered online with recorded lectures provided at the start of each teaching week. Students participate in live online tutorial classes from 7pm to 9pm each Wednesday throughout the semester. Additional learning materials are also provided throughout the weeks.

Places are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, prioritizing unemployed and returning applicants. The course runs subject to viable numbers.

Admission Requirements

Entry Requirements:

  • Option (a): A minimum PASS honours bachelor degree (Level 8) in a cognate discipline.
  • Option (b): A minimum PASS honours bachelor degree (Level 8) in a non-cognate discipline with considerable experience and/or ability evidenced by an RPL portfolio of prior experience and learning.
  • Option (c): Equivalent Qualifications.
  • Applicants with equivalent qualifications on the European and International frameworks will also be considered. International students must evidence a proficiency in English language (IELTS 6.0).
  • Recognised Prior Learning (RPL) – Assessment: Applicants who do not hold the specified qualifications but wish to be assessed under RPL should select "YES" on the online application form.

Language Proficiency Requirements:

  • Applicants whose first language is not English must demonstrate English proficiency.
  • For undergraduate courses, a score of 5.5 in an IELTS or equivalent exam is required.
  • For postgraduate courses, a score of 6.0 in an IELTS or equivalent exam is required.
