Culinary Arts Chef De Partie Apprenticeship
Program Overview
The Chef de Partie Apprenticeship combines on-the-job training with academic study at a Technological University. Over four years, apprentices develop advanced culinary skills, learn to supervise a kitchen area, and train junior chefs. Industry and academic professionals design the program to prepare apprentices for global career opportunities. Upon completion, apprentices may progress to further study or leadership roles in the culinary field.

Degree Overview:
The Chef de Partie Apprenticeship is a four-year "earn and learn" degree program that combines on-the-job training with academic study at a Technological University. The program aims to train students to:
- Deliver advanced culinary skills in a professional kitchen.
- Supervise a particular area or station within the kitchen.
- Work independently and train Commis Chefs. The program is designed to expose students to a wide range of culinary skills and ideas, allowing them to not only learn how to do something but also understand why it is done a certain way. It combines classroom training with hands-on practical skills development in the workplace. Students follow a structured path of learning to build their knowledge and skills from a basic to advanced level. Their work-based mentor will monitor and help them progress through the apprenticeship, and they will learn how their college-based learning links to their everyday working environment.

Other:
- The minimum age at which the employment of an apprentice may commence is 16 years of age.
- Apprentices who successfully complete the Sous Chef Apprenticeship Programme will be eligible to progress to the Head Chef Apprenticeship at Level 9 (Currently under development) or Similar Full or Part-time Research Postgraduate Programmes or Taught Masters Programmes.
