- Module 4: Sports Nutrition in Different Stages of Life and/or in Specific Situations (6 ECTS): This module explores the physiological processes and changes in the body during different stages of life (children, adolescents, pregnancy, lactation, etc.) to design appropriate nutritional plans according to the life cycle and physical activity performed. It adapts nutritional strategies for training and competitions in extreme heat or cold, high altitudes, and in the prevention and recovery of sports injuries. It also covers the importance of sleep and nutritional strategies to manage jet lag during travel.
- Module 5: Nutritional Planning in Different Sports Disciplines (6 ECTS): This module examines the physiological processes, energy systems, and substrates involved in sports practice to enable students to develop nutritional plans based on the different sports disciplines practiced by active individuals and athletes, such as:
- Nutrition in endurance and ultra-endurance sports.
- Nutrition in ball, racket, or ball sports.
- Nutrition in athletic and gymnastic sports.
- Nutrition in combat sports.
- Nutrition in mountain and mountaineering sports.
- Nutrition in water sports. It also examines legislation and competent bodies for regulation.
- Module 7: Gut Microbiota and Immunonutrition and Their Relationship with Nutrition and Physical Exercise (6 ECTS): This module provides foundational knowledge of immunonutrition and gut microbiota, exploring the relationship between nutrition, physical exercise, and gut microbiota. It analyzes research on the use of probiotics, prebiotics, and nutritional supplements and their connection to intestinal health and the use of a low-FODMAP diet.
