  • Module 1: Surgery of the Digestive System: This module covers gastrointestinal surgery (stomach, small intestine, colon, rectum), liver and pancreas surgery, extrahepatic biliary surgery, and portosystemic shunts.
  • Module 2: Surgery of the Head, Neck, and Oral Cavity: This module covers topics such as brachiocephalic syndrome, tracheal collapse, laryngeal paralysis, surgery of the maxilla, mandible, and hard palate, surgeries of the external and middle ear, trufflectomy in cats and dogs, and practical sessions on labial flaps, cleft palate, laryngeal paralysis, salivary gland surgery, mandibulectomy, total external auditory canal ablation, ventral bulla osteotomy, tracheostomy, and tracheal resection-anastomosis.
  • Module 3: Reconstructive and Tegumentary Surgery: This module covers pre-operative considerations, wound reconstruction and management, etiology, classification of wounds and skin deficits, wound healing, decision-making and options for wound closure, wound management, tension relief, surgical drains, flaps, mastectomy, nodulectomy, complications in wound healing and closure, and practical sessions on simple flaps, axillary fold flap, inguinal fold flap, monopediculated and bipediculated "U" or "H" flaps, superficial temporal axial flap, caudal auricular axial flap, superficial caudal epigastric axial flap, omocervical axial flap, lateral genicular axial flap, inverted saphenous flap, thoracic limb amputation, and pelvic limb amputation.
  • Module 6: Thoracic Surgery: This module covers pericardial pathology (classic approach and thoracoscopic approach), diaphragmatic and peritoneo-pericardial hernia, surgery of the persistent ductus arteriosus (different approaches), vascular ring anomaly and megaesophagus (thoracoscopic approach), pulmonary surgery (classic approach and thoracoscopic approach), cardiac surgery, chylothorax (thoracoscopic approach), and practical sessions on placement of a thoracic drainage tube, intercostal thoracotomy, complete and partial pulmonary lobectomy, median sternotomy, subtotal pericardiectomy, closure of intercostal thoracotomy and median sternotomy, and diaphragmatic hernias.
  • Module 8: Surgical Emergencies and Intensive Care: This module covers fluid therapy and shock management, electrolyte disturbances, sepsis and septic shock, management of polytrauma patients, surgical respiratory emergencies, transfusion medicine, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and post-cardiac arrest patient care.
