The Máster de Formación Permanente en Comercio Internacional y Globalización Empresarial is a master's program designed to prepare students for careers in international business. The program focuses on developing students' skills in strategic and competitive business, market analysis, and international trade practices, with a particular emphasis on new globalization processes. Students will gain the knowledge and skills necessary to take on leadership roles in internationalization, export processes, and understanding the opportunities arising from globalization and new technologies.
Outline:
- Module 1: Strategic Management of International Business: This module provides a comprehensive understanding of the company and internationalization, as well as the strategic management process in international decision-making. Students will acquire knowledge about the concepts of business and strategy, explore strategic decision-making levels, and learn a logical and rational approach to making strategic decisions in the context of internationalization. Key aspects such as adaptation to the international environment, innovation, and marketing will be addressed, and case studies of successful international companies will be analyzed.
- Module 2: International Geopolitical Context and Trade Trends: This module explores the global economic system, the impact of globalization and international politics on trade and the global economy. It analyzes the main economic blocs, relevant economic and financial institutions, and current trends in major markets such as the European single market, the North American market, the Ibero-American market, Asian markets, and markets in Africa and the Middle East. Students will understand the characteristics of these markets and the opportunities and challenges they present for international companies. Students will acquire knowledge and skills to analyze the environment, evaluate internal resources, define objectives and strategies, plan and execute exports, and use simple tools.
- Module 4: Procedures and Tactics in Developing the Export Plan: This module focuses on the design of the Export Plan as a fundamental part of the business internationalization process. Students will learn how to conduct a market analysis, evaluate the offer and adapt products or services, select entry strategies and distribution channels, manage logistics and operations, develop international marketing strategies, and consider financial and legal aspects in exporting. By the end of the module, students will be prepared to design and execute an effective Export Plan and achieve their internationalization goals.
- Module 5: Paradigms of Advanced Internationalization: Supply Chain, Sustainability, Diversity, and Digitalization: This module focuses on the advanced paradigms of advanced internationalization, addressing the optimization and strategic management of the global supply chain, the importance of sustainability, the value of diversity and multiculturalism in international environments, as well as the drive for innovation and technology in global strategy. It also highlights the relevance of emerging markets and developing economies, and emphasizes the responsible and ethical management of international operations. Students will be able to apply advanced paradigms in the management of complex international projects and in a constantly changing global context.
- Module 6: Leadership and Team Management in Global Environments: This module focuses on leadership and team management in global environments, addressing the importance of diversity and multiculturalism in effective leadership, the development of intercultural competencies, effective communication in international contexts, and global team motivation. It also highlights the relevance of leadership in international projects and strategic alliances, as well as conflict resolution and decision-making in multicultural teams. It also emphasizes ethical leadership and Corporate Social Responsibility in the international context. Students will acquire skills and knowledge to effectively lead teams in a global environment, foster collaboration and diversity, and make ethical and sustainable decisions in international projects and strategic alliances. By the end of the module, they will be prepared to face the challenges and take advantage of the opportunities in global leadership and team management in international contexts.
- Module 7: Professional Practices: In Module 7, students can choose between completing professional practices or conducting research. Practices can be completed or recognized by accrediting work experience. To do so, students must provide a Curriculum Vitae, Official Certificate of Work History, Company Certificate detailing the position held, time, and competencies required for its performance, or a similar certificate.
- Professional Practices: Students can complete professional practices in a company, developing the competencies and knowledge acquired in the master's program.
- Research: Students can conduct a scientific study case in internationalization environments.
- Module 8: Master's Thesis: The Master's Thesis will be based on conducting research focused on a real problem of the International Department or Area of a company or on a study problem in a sector, company, or group of companies. The Master's Thesis is based on:
- Theoretical Part: Analysis of the current state of the art.
- Justification of the Master's Thesis in an internationalization environment.
- Practical Part: Statement of the research problem, development of hypotheses, description of variables, work procedure, data collection, data analysis, results and discussion, conclusions, bibliography, and appendices.
Careers:
Upon completion of the Master's in International Trade, students can access positions where their specialization and the international nature of their professional profile will be a great advantage. They can:
