The Master's Degree in Biology and Technology Applied to Human Assisted Reproduction is a 12-month program designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to work as specialists in clinical assistance and research in assisted reproduction.   • Students will complete internships in the following stages of work:
  • General overview: organization of daily activities, completion and management of protocols until the end of the procedure
  • Set-up: preparation of materials, media and culture plates, measurement and calibration of equipment
  • Puncture: search and washing of oocytes
  • Semen: evaluation of samples, capacitation and preparation of ICSI and IVF dilutions; testicular biopsy
  • IVF: preparation of insemination plates
  • ICSI: oocyte decumulation, placement of pipettes, plates and microinjection
  • Embryos: evaluation of the different stages of development, including culture to blastocyst
  • Transfer: embryo selection; transfer
  • Cryopreservation: vitrification/devitrification of oocytes/embryos
  • Pre-implantation Genetic Diagnosis: arrays, PCR, biopsy day 3/day 5
  • Module VII: Master's Thesis (10 ECTS)
  • Development of an original work derived from the student's link to a research project (formulation of the research question, search for sources, presentation of arguments, formulation of hypotheses, material and method, results, discussion and conclusions)

Teaching:

The program is taught by a faculty of professionals and experts in their fields, including professionals from the IVIRMA Group. The program is primarily taught by professionals working in the field, with the remaining faculty composed of professionals working in essential areas such as basic, preclinical and clinical research. The program is semi-presential, allowing students to balance their studies with other personal and/or professional activities.


Careers:

The program is specifically designed to meet the high demand for specialists in the field of reproductive medicine. Graduates will be prepared to join the group of experts at the forefront of clinical assistance and research in this field, where Spain is already the third country in terms of treatment volume. The program is developed in collaboration with the IVIRMA Group, the largest assisted reproduction group in the world, with 70 clinics in 13 countries.


Other:

The program is offered in Spanish and has a total of 60 ECTS. The program has been offered at the Universidad Europea de Madrid since the 2017-2018 academic year. There are 30 new places available for admission. The program is designed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of reproductive medicine, including both theoretical and practical knowledge. Graduates will be able to work as junior embryologists.
