The Language for Marketing pre-sessional course is designed to prepare students with the academic English skills and knowledge needed to succeed in a Masters program in marketing. Students will develop academic English skills, adapt to studying in the UK, build a peer community, and become familiar with the concepts and practices of marketing through introductory lectures.

The Language for Marketing pre-sessional course is designed to help students improve their academic English language skills to the level needed to study a Masters degree in marketing. The course aims to prepare students for the academic demands of a Masters program, including:
- Developing academic English skills: Students will learn how to use academic reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills in the context of marketing.
- Adapting to study in the UK: Students will experience and adapt to the study environment in the UK, including the University of Leeds facilities, learning platforms, and culture.
- Building a community: Students will have the opportunity to meet other students and build a community of peers.
- Preparing for the Masters program: Students will become familiar with the language, texts, and practices that they will engage with during their Masters degree.

- Curriculum: The curriculum is developed in collaboration with Leeds University Business School and is informed by research in English language teaching.
- Focus: The course focuses on the skills needed for marketing degrees, with students studying alongside those progressing to marketing programs.
- Content: Students will have the opportunity to listen to introductory academic lectures exploring different marketing themes over six weeks. They will work on understanding the content and language used, along with core texts, through language classes and seminars.

- Accreditation: The course is accredited by BALEAP.
- Social activities: The Language Centre provides a weekly program of optional social activities during the course. Some of these are free, and some have a cost, normally no more than £30.
- Accommodation: Accommodation is not included in the tuition fee.
