Program Overview
The Business Economics degree provides a comprehensive understanding of economic principles, marketing strategies, and political systems. By examining the role of marketing in business and exploring complex global issues, graduates develop critical thinking and analytical skills for careers in diverse fields such as finance, journalism, and government. Program Outline
Degree Overview:
Business Economics focuses on economic concepts, theories, and principles. Learn how these are applied to various business activities inside businesses or organisations and across the wider business world. You’ll develop a strong understanding of the role of marketing in today’s multi-channel environment and how marketing fits into a wider organisational context. Politics confronts the big issues that affect societies the world over. Topics such as illegal drugs, gender and sexuality, environmental sustainability, and surveillance are also covered.

Careers:
Many of our graduates have also moved into financial planning, investment, insurance, pensions and wider financial roles. We also see a number of graduates following the Chartered Accountancy route. We've also seen graduates moving into journalism, marketing, data/statistical analysis and more general business roles. Some have also gone into careers in education, at all levels.

A joint degree such as this is demonstrating that you have a strong interest in working in government, politics, civil service and also that you are interested in working more generally in the business world.
