- Spending money do's and don'ts
- Understanding business bank accounts

- Understanding Sole Trader, Ltd Company, and Social Enterprise:
- Comparison of control, risk, reputation, and image
- Funding and loan application considerations
- Identifying sources of income and paying customers
- Tax implications and optimal business structure

Course Structure:
- In-person delivery at the Summit Centre in Kirkby-in-Ashfield
- 5 weeks, Mondays 6-8pm
- Two course dates:
- 15 July - 12 August 2024
- 14 October - 11 November 2024
Teaching:
- Teaching Method: In-person instruction
- Faculty: Emma Torrance, a SFEDI qualified independent business advisor with experience in retail, hospitality, and business mentoring.
Other:
- The course is delivered through the Enterprising Ashfield project, funded by the Government's Towns Fund.
- Free (fully funded) places are available for individuals and businesses based in Kirkby-in-Ashfield and Sutton-in-Ashfield.
- Emma Torrance also provides one-to-one coaching, mentoring, workshops, and small business retreats.
- The course is suitable for new start and early-stage businesses across various sectors.

- To be eligible for a place, you must live or work in the towns of Kirkby-in-Ashfield or Sutton-in-Ashfield.
