The Global Executive MBA (GEMBA) is a two-year, dual-award program delivered by Nottingham Business School (NBS) in partnership with Stellenbosch University (South Africa) and Insper Institute of Education and Research (Brazil). It is designed for experienced business leaders seeking to enhance their knowledge, networks, and professional prospects in a global context. The program focuses on three key themes:

The GEMBA is a transformative cultural experience, offering a multinational cohort of likeminded business leaders and opportunities for collaboration on live consultancy projects. It combines distance learning with on-campus residentials in three countries, covering topics such as strategic and data-driven decision-making, governance, and change-management methodologies.

The GEMBA program is structured around three stages:

Stage One - Leading with Purpose:

• Induction: Introduces learners to the program and its challenges.
• Professional Leadership Development and Business Research Project: Develops leadership skills and research capabilities.
• Customer Centric Marketing: Explores the role of marketing, global marketing context, marketing strategy, customer experience, and brand.
• Leading People and Organisations: Focuses on managing and leading people and organizations in a global setting.
• Leading Responsible and Sustainable Organisations: Develops a sustainable mindset through understanding ethics, corporate social responsibility, corporate governance, and integrated sustainability.
• Leading Strategy: Addresses organizational uncertainty and disruption, equipping learners with skills to ensure long-term success.
• Campus Based Module – Change Management: Provides practical experience in leading change in complex global organizations through a consultancy project.

Stage Two - Leading Agile Transformation:

• Leading Innovation: Develops skills to lead and facilitate innovation in complex global organizations.
• Finance for Strategic Decision Making: Provides knowledge and skills to evaluate financial information and appraise corporate financial performance and strategy.
• Operations and Supply Chain Management: Builds knowledge of systems and processes critical to delivering strategic objectives.
• Governing Organisations: Develops skills to operate effectively at board level and establish values and behaviors that guide organizational decision making and culture.
• Campus Based Module (Brazil) – Global Consultancy Experience Module: Offers practical experience in international strategic management through a facilitated study tour and consultancy project.

Ongoing Professional Development:

• Professional Leadership Development: Runs throughout the course, supporting continuous professional development and career success.

Teaching:

The GEMBA program utilizes a blended learning approach, combining online modules with on-campus residentials. Includes short multiple-choice tests and final assessments.

• Campus-Based Modules: Four weeks in three continents, involving live case studies, input from local experts, and practical experience with organizations.
The program is supported by a team of lecturers with extensive teaching and commercial experience, including entrepreneurs, directors, and CEOs.

Careers:

The GEMBA program prepares graduates for strategic and senior leadership roles in various industry contexts.
