Program Outline
Degree Overview:
This is a short course in Event Planning and Management offered by Nottingham Trent University. It is designed to provide participants with a comprehensive understanding of the event planning process, from venue sourcing to critical planning pathways.
- Understand and interpret a client brief
- Recognize best practices in the venue sourcing process
- Develop key communication skills for delegates and other stakeholders
- Understand the supply chain process
- Address health and safety measures, risk assessments, and safer meetings plans
- Learn different ways to engage audiences through event marketing
Teaching:
- The course is delivered in-person at the Summit Centre in Kirkby-in-Ashfield.
- The course runs for eight weeks, with sessions held on Tuesdays from 6-8:30 pm.
- The course is taught by Paula Kelsey, an experienced event and marketing professional with over 30 years of experience in the industry.
- Paula has run hundreds of corporate events and awards ceremonies, covering various sectors, including advertising, aerospace, design, digital marketing, medical conferences, and food industry trade shows.
- She also runs her own business, Cloud 9 Event Management, and is the chair of the Alliance of Independent Event Agencies and a Board Member on the UK Awards Standards Council.
