This Master of Creative Arts Therapies program, unique in Western Australia, provides students with clinical training in expressive arts psychotherapies, equipping them as recognized Creative Arts Therapists. Degree Overview:
This Master of Creative Arts Therapies program is the only one of its kind in Western Australia. It is committed to experiential learning through expressive arts psychotherapies in workshops, clinical practice, and clinical supervision.
Objectives:
- Students will learn to critically appraise arts psychotherapy literature.
- Students will gain an understanding of both theoretical knowledge and hands-on creative arts psychotherapy practice.
- Students will explore the newly-emerging theory in this area of counselling.
- Students will gain hands-on experience that will prepare them to work in a diverse range of clinical and non-clinical contexts.
Description:
The program builds on the existing Graduate Diploma in Creative Arts Therapies. Students holding this qualification will be granted advanced standing in the Master's program.

- The program is accredited by the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) and is approved by the Australian, New Zealand, and Asian Creative Arts Therapies Association (ANZACATA).
- Graduates can apply for professional membership with ANZACATA.
- Graduates are eligible to apply for Level 2 membership with the ACA and can then work toward Level 3 or 4 Clinical membership.
