Degree Overview:

The Graduate Certificate in Public Administration is a part-time program offered by Murdoch University in Western Australia. It is designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary to pursue a career in public policy, management, and administration. The program is unique to Murdoch and not offered anywhere else in Western Australia.


Objectives:

The program aims to:

  • Analyze the role and structure of governments throughout the world.
  • Explore the latest trends and developments in public administration, public sector management, policy research and evaluation, financial budgeting and management in both developed and developing countries.
  • Develop a deeper understanding of public sector administration and public policy, enabling students to explain and analyze the challenges governments face with public policy, public sector administration, and management.

Other:

  • The program has been developed in consultation with local, state, and federal government agencies, including the Public Sector Commission and the Institute of Public Administration Australia (IPAA).
  • Students will be taught by leading academics who have worked in government, the public sector, and the not-for-profit sector.
