The International Business and Law program from University of South Carolina combines a J.D. and an M.B.A. in three and a half years, giving graduates a foundation in both business law and general management practices. Degree Overview:

The International Business and Law, I.M.B.A. & J.D. program is a cross-disciplinary combination J.D./M.B.A. degree offered by the Darla Moore School of Business and the Joseph F. Rice School of Law at the University of South Carolina. The program aims to enhance students' knowledge of both business and law, preparing them for careers in the increasingly interconnected fields.


Careers:

The program prepares students for a variety of careers in the legal and business fields, including:

  • Mergers & Acquisitions Attorney
  • In-house Counsel
  • Financial Technology Attorney
  • Corporate Analyst
  • Tax Consultant
  • Real Estate Advisor

Other:

  • Students complete their first two years of law school before starting their M.B.A. in their third year.
  • The program can be completed in three and a half years for the J.D./M.B.A.
  • or four years for the J.D./IMBA.
  • Students can use up to nine credit hours from the law program to satisfy Moore School electives, and vice versa.
  • The program offers two international M.B.A. tracks: global and language.
