Program Overview


The MA in Superdiversity in Education, Organisations and Society (SEOS) is a two-year interdisciplinary Joint-Master's degree program designed by the UNIC alliance. It focuses on exploring the impact of superdiversity on education, organizations, and society, equipping students with the skills and knowledge needed to address the challenges of superdiverse societies. Delivered in English, the program combines virtual and physical mobility options to foster intercultural and multilingual skills, and provides students with a European student card for seamless European mobility.

Degree Overview:

The MA in Superdiversity in Education, Organisations and Society (SEOS) is a two-year, interdisciplinary Joint-Master's degree program designed and delivered by the UNIC alliance, including UCC. It aims to unlock new models of European learning, working, and researching that will shape the future of higher education. The program focuses on exploring the impact of superdiversity on education, organizations, and society, equipping students with the skills and knowledge needed to address the challenges of superdiverse societies.


Objectives:

The program aims to:

  • Explore the impact of superdiversity on education, organizations, and society.
  • Develop capacities to reflexively and co-creatively contribute to transitions to a future of inclusive, productive, and sustainable European societies.
  • Combine different disciplines, educational approaches, and outstanding facilities in a comprehensive and value-adding way.
  • Combine virtual and physical mobility options, responding to the heterogeneous expectations of a super diverse, transnational, and climate-conscious 21st-century student body.
  • Interconnect learning, teaching, and research, making them mutually enriching and learner-centered.
  • Provide tailor-made flexibility, clear guidance, and transparent processes for students.
  • Equip students with intercultural and multilingual skills and experience European exchange.

Outline:

The SEOS program is structured into four semesters, delivered over two years (24 months) in a research-led curriculum. It comprises a workload of 120 credits (ECTS).

  • A.2 Diversity-Sensitive Research, Teaching and Learning Methods (RUB, 10 credits)
  • A.3 Mobility and Exchange (RUB, 5 credits)
  • Semester 2 - Multidisciplinary Perspectives:
  • B.1 Educational Concepts: Superdiversity as a Part of Education (RUB, 15 credits)
  • B.2 Superdiversity, Organisational Culture and Management (KU, 15 credits)
  • B.3 Superdiversity, Intersectionality, and Social Inclusion: Social Scientific Perspectives (UCC, 15 credits)
  • Semester 3 - In-Depth Studies:
  • C.1 Pedagogy, Competence, and Literacy in the Super-Diverse Classroom (UZagreb, 15 credits)
  • C.2 Managing Superdiversity in the Organisational Context (EUR , 15 credits)
  • C.3 Intersectionality and Decolonial Perspectives in a Mobile Society (UOulu, 15 credits)
  • Semester 4:
  • MA Thesis (UDeusto, 30 credits)

  • The program is delivered in English.
  • Students are offered several mobility options during the two-year course.
  • Students will encounter different cultures, languages, and distinct learning environments.
  • Students will benefit from cutting-edge expertise from each of the eight universities.
  • UNIC CityLabs facilitate the collaboration of students, researchers, city stakeholders, organizations, and citizens to identify local societal challenges, co-create solutions to these problems, and ultimately implement the created solutions locally to drive societal change.
  • All UNIC students can acquire intercultural and multilingual skills and experience European exchange.
  • Students will receive a UCC student card and a UNIC European student card.
  • Students have access to eight campuses located in Europe’s up-and-coming post-industrial cities.
  • Part of the joint curriculum is the integrated mobility of students.
  • The UNIC Inter-University Campus is a virtual and administrative home base that encourages and facilitates student mobility.
