The University of Regina offers three certificate programs through the Faculty of Education:
- Advanced Certificate in Education: This 30-credit hour program is designed for teachers seeking to fulfill or change career goals, advance their careers, or expand their knowledge in a specific field. It is also suitable for professionals looking to develop their general educational background. It aims to facilitate IETs in obtaining teacher certification in Saskatchewan and provides opportunities for them to secure employment and integrate into the workforce.
- Certificat Voie d’avenir pour enseigner en Saskatchewan: This program is similar to the CIET, honoring and building upon prior training, knowledge, and experiences of IETs. It facilitates IETs in obtaining teacher certification in Saskatchewan and provides opportunities for them to secure employment and integrate into the workforce.
Objectives:
The objectives of the certificate programs are to:
- Advance the careers of teachers in Saskatchewan.
- Provide experience with innovative and responsive pedagogies, including:
- Equitable assessment and evaluation
- Teaching, learning, and participating in our digital world
- Teaching for multiple literacies
- Responding with multiple levels of intervention to learning, behavioral, and health challenges in schools.
