This module offers a unique opportunity for health, education, and social care practitioners to engage in interdisciplinary learning on infant mental health and wellbeing. The course is designed to provide strong inter-professional, multi-disciplinary, and collaborative learning experiences that align with the interprofessional education (IPE) agenda. It is relevant to practitioners employed in many settings including, but not limited to the new family hubs, mother and baby psychiatric units, and early help centers and it addresses the recent development of the NHS’s Perinatal Mental Health Care Pathways. The module is presented by a team of expert practitioners and academic staff from various backgrounds, including child development, early years, midwifery, health visiting, attachment, and psychology. By participating in this course, you will have the opportunity to develop key skills, knowledge, and expertise that will enhance the lives and outcomes of infants and their families. The increasing recognition of the critical role of early childhood on a global scale has led to a growing demand for interdisciplinary courses on infant mental health and wellbeing. This demand is in line with the wider policy developments outlined in the Best Start for Life Offer, which is currently being implemented across England. - An honours degree, usually at 2:2 or above, from a UK institution or equivalent.
