This 12-week professional leather manufacturing course combines theoretical knowledge with practical work to enhance critical thinking, problem-solving, and sustainability awareness. Taught by industry experts, it offers a combination of lectures, seminars, and tutorials to develop existing knowledge and contribute to professional development. Assessment is primarily through coursework, including practical reports, reflective portfolios, and presentations.

Degree Overview:
This 12-week professional course will further enhance your critical and analytical knowledge of leather manufacture, finishing and related issues. The programme aims to develop your existing knowledge of leather making, problem solving and sustainability. The combination of practical work, seminars and tutorials delivered by experts in the field provides the ideal platform for development. It can be studied full-time over 12 weeks, or on a part time basis, with a minimum of 60 credits studied per year part time.
Assessment:
You will be mainly assessed though course work including practical reports, reflective portfolios and presentations.
Teaching:
We use a range of teaching methods including lectures, seminars, workshops and practical sessions. Our virtual learning environment allows you and your course tutors to exchange ideas as well as submit assignments from home.
Other:
Study will take place on a theoretical basis, enhanced by hands-on-practical work in both our tannery and laboratories. The close relationship with industry during your study provides networking opportunities within an exciting and global industry. Updated 12/04/2024
