Degree Overview:
The Lift and Escalator Technology HNC is a recognized qualification aimed at students who require a broad but complete academic qualification in Lift Technology. It covers a range of concepts of lift and escalator technology, from fundamentals to more advanced topics. The course is delivered in a modular format and taught online, allowing students to study the learning materials, attend online tutorial sessions, and complete their assessments remotely. It allows seamless progression from the Certificate through to the HND in Lift and Escalator Technology. The Lift & Escalator Technology HNC covers fundamentals of lift technology and related engineering principles, through to engineering design, contract management, and more specialist lift or escalator topics. There is some choice within the programme, depending on your particular focus towards lifts or escalators. You will also undertake a project, which is work related. This course is available via Distance Learning.
Outline:
All Lift Technology programmes are modular. The programme is delivered through distance learning (online) and so no attendance is required. Coursework is used to assess learning and offers the opportunity for you to develop and demonstrate valuable understanding of relevant engineering principles and relevant Codes and Standards, and to apply problem solving, project planning and research skills. Assignments are often related to real life situations and are therefore an important learning activity. The assessment profile for each module has been chosen to ensure that the assessment pattern is the most efficient method of ensuring that you have achieved the learning outcomes of the programme.
Assessment:
Students typically study between 3-6 hours per week, per module.

Although designed for students already working within the industry, the Lift Technology programmes provide an excellent springboard for career progression within the lift and escalator, and allied industries. They are also a route to further study.
