This MSc Information Technology program at Bournemouth University is designed for individuals with some experience in IT but no formal qualification, or those holding a first degree in a different subject.   • Students will explore issues and options related to managing information systems (IS) and IT in today's business environment.
  • Human Centred Design: This unit focuses on computer-based interactive systems and their interaction with human users in various contexts.
  • Students will learn how to design and develop such systems by applying human-centered design principles and techniques, ensuring user satisfaction and meeting business needs.
  • Research Methods and Professional Issues: This unit provides an overview of different research methods used in clinical research, covering aspects of research design and their application to quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods approaches.
  • Individual Masters Project: This unit allows students to delve into a complex, real-world problem within the context of a substantial, independently-conducted piece of work.
  • Students will develop an understanding of the characteristics and implications inherent in the solution and acquire skills in project planning, IT knowledge creation and interpretation, and professional-standard reporting.

It covers psychological theories of persuasion, influence, decision making, and behavior change, along with their applications in various domains. Students will learn about diverse user needs, conduct user-oriented research, and develop prototypes of inclusive assistive technology.
