Program Overview


This degree equips graduates with the skills and experience to successfully manage all aspects of filmmaking and creative productions. It focuses on industry-relevant practices, fostering connections with creatives, and developing strong soft skills. Students benefit from access to industry-standard software and gain practical experience through collaborations, preparing them for a variety of roles in film and television production as well as other fields requiring coordination and organizational abilities.

  • Analyze the different skills and approaches necessary to manage both scripted and unscripted productions
  • Develop important soft skills around Conflict Resolution and Project Management that will enhance your ability to manage people as well as logistics

  • Have access to industry-standard Production Management software Movie Magic Scheduling 6 and Movie Magic Budgeting 10.

On this course you will be taught by a range of staff with relevant expertise and knowledge appropriate to the content of the unit. This will include senior academic staff, qualified professional practitioners, demonstrators, technicians and research students. You will also benefit from regular guest lectures from industry.

As a result of the Covid-19 pandemic’s impact on entertainment, the industry has a renewed appreciation for the vital role this department plays in realising finished projects; Screenskills has identified Production Management as an industry shortage area, so job prospects in this area are currently very good for individuals with the right skills. Beyond the entertainment industry, production management skills have a broad applicability in areas like event planning and management, and any roles that require strong coordinating or organisational skills.

  • UK, ROI, and CI students: £9,250
  • International students: £17,000
  • The fees are quoted in pounds sterling and are per annum. Your tuition fees will be the same for each year of your course. All fees are subject to an annual increase in line with inflation. International students will need to pay a non-refundable deposit of £5,000 to secure their place on the course. This deposit will be deducted from your tuition fees when you register. The remainder of your tuition fees will be payable in installments. You can choose to pay your fees in one installment at the beginning of each academic year, or in two installments, one at the beginning of each semester.
