Program Overview
The Level 7 Bachelor of Science in Instrumentation and Industrial Automation trains students to become industry-ready instrumentation technicians, calibration technicians, and automation technicians. The three-year program combines full-time study with paid work placements, preparing graduates for success in the field. - Minimum Number of Subjects: 5
- Higher Level: N/A
- Minimum Grade in Maths: O6/H7
- Minimum Grade in English OR Irish: O6/H7
QQI/FET Requirements
- QQI/FET Award Required: Any full Level 5 or 6 award
- Additional Requirements: Must include a pass in 1 of the following:
- Mathematics (C20139)
- Mathematics (5N1833)
- Mathematics (6N3395)
- Mathematics for Computing (C20175)
- LC Maths
AND
- APTITUDE TEST AND INTERVIEW The max QQI points awarded is 390.
Mature Applicants
- Mature applicants (i.e. those who are aged 23 years or more on 1st January in the year of entry) will be assessed based on their application, CV, aptitude test and interview.
- Mature applicants are not required to meet the leaving certificate or QQI requirements above.

Additional Requirements
- All applicants must attend an aptitude test (date TBC).
- Applicants who achieve the required score (at least 42 marks out of 100) in this aptitude test will subsequently be invited to attend an interview (date TBC).
- Following the interview process, each applicant’s total score must be equal to or greater than 110 marks out of 200. This total score given will be added to Leaving Certificate points (if applicable).
- Late and change of mind applications are accepted, and all late applicants will go through the same screening process as outlined above.
- Learn and Work programmes involve a large degree of work-based learning. Applicants should be able to verify their eligibility to legally work in Ireland.
