About Program

Program Overview

The Bachelor of Science (Honours) from UniSQ allows you to specialize in a research area of your choice, including animal science, biology, food science, plant science, or wine science. Through core courses, specialized courses, and research projects, you will develop critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a deep understanding of scientific research methods. This degree prepares graduates for careers in agricultural consulting, scientific laboratories, and research, as well as for further postgraduate studies.

Program Outline

It is your opportunity to play a pivotal role in research on topics or issues that matter to you most, fostering critical thinking and problem solving and opening doors to a career that makes a difference. You will be guided by renowned academics and professionals in three core courses where you will carry out original scientific research, evaluate real-world practical problems and the limitations these place on progress in science, and you will learn to critically evaluate scientific literature. You will also participate in research teams, be introduced to advanced experimental and literature research methods, and have opportunities to make contact with the wider scientific community in the local region, elsewhere in Australia and overseas. Under this research specialization, you will be able to select from the following project topics: animal science, biology, food science, plant science and wine science.
