The Bachelor of Science (Environment and Sustainability) is designed for individuals interested in exploring environmental science, biodiversity conservation, climate change mitigation and adaptation, and natural resource management for a more sustainable future. The program aims to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of major environmental issues such as biodiversity loss and climate change, as well as the social, political, and environmental implications of human impacts on the globe.

The program consists of 24 units, including:

  • 4 core courses
  • 1 x Environment & Sustainability 8-unit major

Careers:

Graduates of the program may find employment as climatologists, climate scientists, climate policy analysts, agricultural scientists, conservation and biodiversity managers, environmental consultants, ecologists, environmental scientists, and natural resource managers. Industries and employers may include the resources/mining industries, national parks, universities, defense organizations, CSIRO, state and federal government departments, the Australian Bureau of Meteorology, and other organizations contributing to sustainable utilization and management of natural resources.


Other:

  • Students may choose to study the Bachelor of Science as part of a double degree with the Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Business.
  • The program is offered on-campus, externally, and online.

  • One of Biology, Chemistry, or Physics (Units 3 & 4, C)
