Bachelor of Arts (Physiology & Human Movement)

Program Overview

The Bachelor of Arts in Health and Physical Education explores anatomy, physiology, and human movement in relation to health, disease, trauma, and exercise. Students develop knowledge in human growth and development, social determinants of health, and safe exercise practices. The degree can be tailored with double majors or minors in Social Justice and Entrepreneurship or Psychology, equipping graduates for careers in government, corporate, and community health and business sectors.

Degree Overview:

This major explores studies in anatomy, physiology, and human movement, and their relation to health, disease, trauma, and exercise. Students will gain a detailed understanding of human growth and development, examine how physiological factors and social determinants of health influence changes in the human body, develop knowledge and skills to plan, promote, conduct, and evaluate supportive and safe exercise environments and practices, and expand their studies with a double major or minor in Social Justice and Entrepreneurship or Psychology.

To complete this degree, students must complete 24 units.

Option 1

• Core courses: 4
• SEED-electives: 0-4
• 1 x 8-unit major: 8
• A second 8-unit major or 2 x 4-unit minors or 1 x 4-unit minor plus 4 x electives (depending on the number of SEED-electives completed): 8

Option 2

• Core courses: 4
• 1 x 12-unit extended major: 12
