This BA (Hons) Education degree is designed to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary for a career in education, whether as a teacher, policy maker, researcher, or in other related fields. The program emphasizes the transformative power of education and its role in promoting social justice, sustainability, wellbeing, and inclusion. Students will explore important current themes in education, develop professional skills through work placements and research projects, and gain a comprehensive understanding of education systems from a national and global perspective.

  • Formal and Informal Education: Students will explore the potential of education in both traditional settings and through everyday lived experience.
  • Wellbeing in Education through Different Lenses: This module examines the concept of wellbeing in education from various perspectives, including psychology, sociology, and philosophy.
  • Children and Young People’s Voice and Participation: Students will learn about the importance of children and young people's voices in education and how to promote their participation in decision-making processes.
  • Controversial Issues in Special and Inclusive Education: This module explores current debates and challenges in special and inclusive education.
