A chemistry degree can be used in a variety of careers such as healthcare, research, and education. First, you'll need to build a foundation with our core courses of Calculus, General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Inorganic Chemistry, Fundamentals of Biochemistry, and Quantitative Analysis. Then, you can choose from three concentrations, and for each one, a full-time academic advisor will help you stay on track. If you wish to pursue a career in teaching, you'll even be able to earn a certification to teach chemistry or general science through the UABTeach program.
