Program Description:
The MSEd program consists of 45 credit hours of approved graduate-level courses, divided into four areas:
- Professional Education Core (15 credits): All MSEd students complete this core, which includes courses like Educational Research, Leadership and Policy in a Diverse Society, and Theories of Teaching and Learning.
- Curriculum and Instruction Major (18 credits): This area focuses on specialized curriculum and instruction topics, with options in areas like Dual Language/Bilingual education, Early Childhood education, Education Technology, ESOL Education, Math Education, Social Emotional Learning, Social Studies Education, and STEM Education.
- Electives (6 credits): Students select electives in consultation with the Curriculum and Instruction coordinator.
- Exit Requirements (culminating experience) (6 credits): Students can choose between a professional project or a thesis.
