Spanish/English Translation Certification
Program Overview
The Spanish/English Translation Certificate program equips students with specialized translation skills for careers in business, healthcare, legal, and other fields. The program requires 16 credit hours of coursework, including Spanish grammar, introduction to translation, and specialized translation courses. Upon completion, graduates are prepared for careers as translators, interpreters, and other language professionals.

Degree Overview:
The Spanish/English Translation Certificate is designed for Spanish majors, Spanish minors, students in Business, International Studies and Nursing, and members of the Corpus Christi community who wish to specialize in English-Spanish and Spanish-English translation. The program aims to develop or enhance translation skills for employment as business, financial, healthcare and legal translators.

The program requires completion of 16 credit hours and an Exit Examination.
Required Courses (16 hours):
- Spanish Grammar (3 hours)
- Introduction to Translation (3 hours)
- Spanish for the Professions (3 hours)
- Medical, Scientific and Technical Translation (3 hours)
- Business, Commercial, and Legal Translation (4 hours)

Upon graduation, students will have the skills to pursue careers such as:
- Proofreader

Other:
The program is available to students pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish with or without Secondary Teacher Certification, or Spanish/English Translation Certificate. It can also fulfill Second Language requirements or the Language, Philosophy, and Culture requirement in the Core Curriculum Program, and serve as electives for other majors and minors.
