The Wellness Management BS program at SUNY Oswego is designed to prepare students for careers in the growing healthcare industry. The curriculum provides a foundation in health science/wellness, management, and human behavior, and equips students with skills in needs assessment, program planning, implementation, and evaluation. The program also includes a 120-hour supervised internship during the junior or senior year, allowing students to gain valuable real-world experience in various settings such as fitness centers, YMCAs, worksite health promotion programs, physical therapy offices, public health agencies, nursing homes, hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and more. An online degree completion program is also available for students with appropriate transfer credit.
Careers:
Graduates of the Wellness Management BS program are eligible to sit for national certifications, including Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES), American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) Personal Trainer, and ACSM Certified Health Fitness Specialist. Potential career paths include:
