The BA Law with Spanish and Spanish Law fuses English Law fundamentals with Spanish immersion. Students study core legal modules alongside Spanish language and culture coursework. In the third year, they can study in Spain, enhancing their understanding of the Spanish legal system and language proficiency. Graduates pursue careers in diverse fields including law, business, and government.

Degree Overview:

The BA Law with Spanish and Spanish Law provides a unique opportunity to immerse oneself in Spanish culture while thoroughly covering the foundations of English Law. The degree covers core modules examining areas such as tort, contract, trusts, and criminal law. The course is run in partnership with the Department of Modern Languages and Cultures, and students will also take core modules to develop their Spanish speaking and writing. In the third year, students have the opportunity to study in Spain at a current partner law school, where they will study the Spanish legal system and develop advanced Spanish language skills. This experience enhances education and offers a remarkable cultural experience. The program opens doors to various professions and organizations, including law firms, barristers' chambers, consultancies, business advisory services, marketing, civil service, public relations, accountancy, and campaigning.

Assessment:

Some modules are assessed by examination, some by coursework, and some by a combination of the two.


Teaching:

Students are taught through a mixture of lectures, seminars, and tutorials. The Legal Skills Team helps undergraduate law students with their academic legal skills as well as with transferable skills that help to deliver success outside the classroom.


Careers:

Graduates can undertake further legal training to become a solicitor or barrister. The skills acquired on a law degree from Nottingham pave the way for a successful career in sectors as diverse as multi-national business, politics, the media, and law practice.
