This MRes program provides healthcare professionals with the foundation for a research career. Delivered online for flexibility, the curriculum combines coursework with research training, catering to individual needs through optional unit choices. Completing this course can open up opportunities in health science research and serve as a stepping stone towards a PhD. The university offers the option of Accreditation Prior (Experiential) Learning (AP(E)L) for qualified applicants.

Learn through a combination of coursework and research training, tailoring the taught component to your own needs through a choice of optional units. Other:
The University permits applicants with comparable previous experience to submit an application for consideration of Accreditation Prior (Experiential) Learning (AP(E)L). The maximum AP(E)L is 15 credits to a PGCert, 45 credits to a PGDip and 60 credits to a master's. If your AP(E)L application is successful, the University charges £30 for every 15 credits of AP(E)L. The overall tuition fee is adjusted and the administrative charge is applied.

Entry Requirements:
We require a minimum of an Upper Second honours degree or the overseas equivalent. Significant relevant research or professional experience may be considered in place of an academic qualification lower than an Upper Second. If you fail to meet the required entry criteria, applications may be considered on an individual basis, but you may be required to enrol initially on another route, such as a PGCert or PGDip.
