Program Outline
Degree Overview:
This module concentrates on the contribution of specialised modalities in children and young persons imaging.
- Provide an understanding of dose optimisation and contrast use in children and young persons.
- Understand and utilise the rationales for different imaging modalities in children and young persons, including the use of GA, Sedation and play therapy.
Assessment:
- Formative assessment: Activities during the module will develop the necessary skills required to select suitable cases for the summative assessment. Peer and tutor review of these activities will be encouraged via the use of online discussion forums and feedback is provided via tutor, peer, and self-evaluation.
- Summative assessment: Students will submit a poster, suitable for presentation at a national conference, which considers a range of image modalities relative to a selected pathology in paediatrics. Followed by up to 15-minute defence of material within poster.

- This module is beneficial for specialist staff currently working with paediatric imaging departments or those with an interest in paediatric imaging.
