Program Outline


Degree Overview:

This module concentrates on the contribution of specialised modalities in children and young persons imaging.

  • Provide an understanding of dose optimisation and contrast use in children and young persons.
  • Understand and utilise the rationales for different imaging modalities in children and young persons, including the use of GA, Sedation and play therapy.

Assessment:

  • Formative assessment: Activities during the module will develop the necessary skills required to select suitable cases for the summative assessment.
  • Peer and tutor review of these activities will be encouraged via the use of online discussion forums and feedback is provided via tutor, peer, and self-evaluation.
  • Summative assessment: Students will submit a poster, suitable for presentation at a national conference, which considers a range of image modalities relative to a selected pathology in paediatrics.
  • Followed by up to 15-minute defence of material within poster.
