Highfield First Aid at Work Requalification Training - RQF

Program Overview

This First Aid at Work course equips individuals with the skills to administer first aid in a variety of emergency situations, covering injuries, illnesses, and life-threatening emergencies. Delivered by experienced tutors, the course includes practical and hands-on training in a state-of-the-art facility.

The course content includes:

• Administering first aid to a casualty with:
• Injuries to bones, muscles and joints, including suspected spinal injuries
• Chest injuries
• Eye injuries
• Sudden poisoning
• Anaphylactic shock
• Recognizing the presence of major illnesses and providing appropriate first aid (including heart attack, stroke, epilepsy, asthma, diabetes).

Teaching:

• Courses are delivered by experienced tutors who are practical and hands-on in their approach.
• Training takes place in LSBU Active's Academy of Sport, which has recently undergone £1 million of investment.

Careers:

• The course is ideal for those working in a fitness or health related industry.
• LSBU's Employability Service offers free workshops and events, online job boards, and career advice.
• On completion of training, you will receive a First Aid at Work certificate, valid for three years.
• The HSE recommends completing an annual update of your First Aid skills.
