The PhD and MRes programmes are closely linked to the university's growing and dynamic research culture. The MRes programme aims to provide students with the skills and knowledge necessary to undertake an extended dissertation (30,000 words).
Description:
The PhD and MRes programmes are research-based, meaning students are expected to self-direct their learning with support from a supervisory team. The School of Law and Social Sciences Graduate School provides a focal point for the management and support of these programmes.
Teaching:
The university employs an experiential learning strategy, meaning much of the teaching is rooted in professional practice. This includes placements, simulations, and professional skills exercises. Some lecturers are also practitioners and are able to draw upon their professional experience when teaching.
