Degree Overview:

This one-year Level 4 qualification in Creative Media Production (Television) is an advanced, technical qualification co-developed with London South Bank University (LSBU) and employers, delivered in a supportive Technical College environment with contemporary facilities. The course emphasis is on developing a comprehensive understanding of sophisticated digital technologies within media and television and applying your newly acquired knowledge and skills by working on live briefs from employers, giving you first-hand industry experience. You will also undertake industry-related enrichment visits such as to postproduction houses and TV sets and tours to enhance your learning experience.

• Course Structure: The course is delivered full-time over 12 months, starting in September.

• Creative Media Industries:
This module will introduce you to the different sectors of the creative media industry, including television, film, and digital media. You will learn about the different roles within these industries, the production process, and the business of media. You will learn about different lighting techniques, sound recording equipment, and how to create a professional sound mix. You will learn about different editing software, editing techniques, and how to create a compelling narrative. You will learn about studio lighting, sound, and camera techniques.
• Single Camera Techniques for TV: This module will teach you how to shoot professional-quality video footage using a single camera.
• Television Practices: This module will cover the practical aspects of television production, including scriptwriting, storyboarding, and directing.
• Individual Project: This module will give you the opportunity to develop your own television production project.
You will be responsible for all aspects of the project, from concept development to post-production.
• Professional Practice: This module will focus on the professional skills you need to succeed in the creative media industry.

Assessment:

• Assessment Methods: Summative assessment consists of 100% coursework.
Your acquisition of knowledge and understanding will be assessed by project-based tasks, including the practical demonstration of skills and presenting research in reports and presentations.
