This MA Television Production course is designed to develop the programme makers of the future. From day one, you’ll create broadcast content for live clients and gain invaluable broadcast credit. The course aims to equip students with the latest industry skills and provide them with production credits while studying. It focuses on developing professional-standard skills in content production and development, honing creative flair, and allowing students to pursue specialist interests in sports television, drama production, or live events coverage.

Year 1
- Compulsory Modules:
- Production Skills: This module encourages a purposeful and analytical approach to TV Production practice, generating a body of professional-level work and promoting self-critical and self-accountable working methods.
- Group Project: This module extends group practical TV Production skills, provides a deeper understanding of TV Production team processes, offers opportunities to negotiate and manage live and/or post-produced events, and prepares students for employment or self-employment in their chosen TV Production area. Students will use all their previous training to present the project in a way that demonstrates relevant professional work in the context of contemporary demands.
Teaching:
- The course involves hands-on learning within collaborative live multi-camera production environments.
- Students partner with live broadcast companies on real television briefs, providing an immersive creative experience and broadcast credit.
- Students have opportunities to specialize in areas such as sports television, live event production, documentaries, and single camera production.
- Many lecturers are current industry practitioners, and students benefit from regular guest lectures from established industry professionals.

- The course includes unique projects with filmmakers, musicians, and performers, such as the "Soap In a Week" project filmed using an outdoor set on campus.
- The course offers exceptional facilities, including a broadcast 4K, 12G LED television studio, production gallery, editing suites, a chroma-key infinity stage, a multi-sensor motion capture suite, an external drama set, an external production gallery, and simulation offices.
- The course includes a cJAM employability event where students can meet with industry insiders for placement and work opportunities.
