Program Overview
The MA in Museum Studies and Certificate in Nonprofit Management is a combined degree program that provides students with the skills to thrive in nonprofit museums and arts philanthropy. Students can customize their core coursework in both Museum Studies and Nonprofit Management, while choosing from a diverse range of elective courses. The program includes two courses that can be applied to both the master's and certificate to complete a total of 14 courses and 42 credits.

Degree Overview:
Students pursuing an MA in Museum Studies have the option of strengthening their leadership skills by enrolling in the combined degree program offered with the Certificate in Nonprofit Management. Students are provided an overview of the nonprofit sector, as well as the technical skills needed to thrive in nonprofit museums and arts philanthropy. Students may earn the combined degree by taking 10 Museum Studies courses, per the masters degree requirements, and 4 Nonprofit Management courses for a total of 14 courses. Two specific Museum Studies courses can be applied to both the masters and the certificate and these courses are listed under the Requirements tab.

The statement should also explain how this combined degree will help them succeed in their goals in the museum profession. If the applicant has worked for a museum in any capacity, they should incorporate their experience into the statement. The statement will be reviewed for content, organization, and writing style.
