This course looks at teaching and learning, assessment and research methods in health professional education.

Objectives:

• Apply educational principles and theories to facilitate teaching and learning in health-related contexts.
• Design and critique assessment tools used in the education of health professionals.
• Apply the principles of research design, including the ability to critique relevant health professions-related educational literature.
• Develop knowledge and skills in particular areas of interest in health professions-related education through the available elective units.

Teaching:

• The course is delivered through a combination of face-to-face teaching and online learning.
• Some units are also available as intensive short courses.
• The estimated time commitment is 4 to 6 hours per unit per week, which includes contact hours and personal study, with additional hours required to complete assessments.
