It is a unique program offered by the University of Western Australia (UWA) in partnership with Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand (CA ANZ). This program is designed for individuals who want to quickly transition into a professional accounting career and obtain a distinctive, advanced postgraduate accounting qualification.

Program Description:
The Master of Professional Accounting (Chartered Accounting) is a 2 or 2.5-year program (depending on prior learning) that covers all aspects of financial accounting, management accounting, and auditing. It also addresses the application of relevant taxation and corporate law, the key financial and economic principles that influence business performance, and the application of analytical tools to inform business decisions. Students receive specialized training in accounting and business-related software and learn how to apply accounting knowledge to resolve complex business problems through contemporary case studies and business simulations. The advanced units in the CA program are delivered in small classes with ongoing mentoring from experienced UWA academics.

- The course is delivered face-to-face in the UWA Business School by experienced UWA academics in partnership with CA ANZ.
- Online delivery is also an option for those located outside of Perth.
- The ICAP unit is delivered exclusively by the CA ANZ.

- Chartered accountants are employed in professional accounting firms, large and small for-profit entities, as well as not-for-profit and government organizations.

- Students enrolled in the Master of Professional Accounting at UWA are able to complete the professional study requirements of the Chartered Accountants (CA) qualification as part of their degree, setting students apart in the job market.
- The CA Program is made up of five modules and mentored practical experience, combining formal study and hands-on learning to develop technical and professional skills.
- Students have the option to take the formal study component of the CA Program by choosing this stream. This is an option only and is not essential for any students to complete.
- Students will still need to accrue 3 years of approved practical experience before completing all the requirements to become a CA.
- The CA Program will be delivered by Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CA ANZ) in partnership with UWA. It is a globally recognized program connecting UWA students to a 1,000,000 strong global knowledge network. CA ANZ is the only professional accounting body approved by the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA).
- The course comprises eight units. All units (except the ICAP unit) are delivered face-to-face in the UWA Business School by experienced UWA academics in partnership with CA ANZ. The ICAP is delivered exclusively by the CA ANZ. Online delivery is also an option for those located outside of Perth.
