Program Overview


This micro-credential in Advanced Strength and Conditioning for Sport Performance provides practical and theoretical training in strength and power development, aerobic and anaerobic capacity training, and speed and agility enhancement. Delivered through a blended learning approach with hands-on workshops, the program equips participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to design and conduct strength and conditioning programs to improve athletic performance.

Degree Overview:

This micro-credential offers a practical and theoretical approach to develop a comprehensive understanding of contemporary, industry-relevant strength and conditioning concepts. The program covers areas such as strength and power development, aerobic and anaerobic capacity training, and speed and agility enhancement. Upon completion, participants will possess the knowledge and skills necessary to plan, conduct, and design strength and conditioning programs aimed at improving athletic performance.


Objectives:

Upon successful completion of the course, candidates will be able to:

  • Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the scope of practice and responsibilities of a strength and conditioning coach.
  • Demonstrate the ability to select or design appropriate procedures to evaluate athlete performance and attributes to inform training program design.
  • Deploy skills of critical analysis and independent critical reasoning.
  • Critically and positively reflect upon own professional practice.
  • Evaluate established and new theories of learning and model best practice as a way to improve own performance.
