This course provides students with a sound understanding of traditional and contemporary translation theory and practice, and exposes students to advanced translation methodologies such as computer-aided translation localisation. It also equips students with an essential understanding and working knowledge of the ethical standards expected of translation professionals. The course has been designed by leading translation scholars whose work represents the frontier of translation studies including the latest computer aided tools. Students develop valuable and versatile communication skills in two languages. The specific language pairs (in both directions) are: English/Chinese; English/French; English/Italian; and English/German.
