The Master of Clinical Pathology (MCP) is fully accredited by the Australian Institute of Medical and Clinical Scientists (AIMS). AIMS is the peak professional body representing medical scientists in Australia in all disciplines of medical laboratory science. Accreditation by AIMS is a requirement for employment as a Medical Laboratory Scientist in most laboratories in Australia. The UWA MCP program is one of only three postgraduate programs accredited by AIMS in Australasia, the first at a Go8 university, and the only one with an accredited research stream. Please note that this program is currently undergoing re-accreditation with AIMs and UWA has received verbal confirmation of the re-accreditation for a period of 4 years.

Admission Requirements

Entry Requirements:

To be considered for admission to this course an applicant must have—(a) a relevant bachelor's degree, or an equivalent qualification, as recognised by UWA; and(b) the equivalent of a UWA weighted average mark of 65 per cent in the Level 3 units of a relevant major.


Language Proficiency Requirements:

Minimum overall IELTS score of 6.5, with no band less than 6.0.
