How the training works There are two components to the apprenticeship. On job training – during your apprenticeship, you’ll need to complete on job assessments in the workplace. You will work with your supervisor who will show you how to do things, and why it’s done that way. They will help make sure you’re following safe working practices. Off job training – you’ll attend electrical theory classes onsite at the Dunedin Campus or Central Otago Campus. The two forms of training are done side by side so that you learn the theory and put it into practice. It would typically take you between three and a half to four years to complete your apprenticeship programme.
